South Bay represent
When Xinleibabe (who is freshly engaged!) came down to LA for the weekend the roommates got together for lunch. Xin unwittingly decided to go to the same restaurant I had met her at the last time I saw her. I thought she had done that intentionally which was fine with me because the food was tasty. The previous time I'd gotten the chicken soup which was good, but this time I got the yukgejang kalgooksoo which is so much better. SO GOOD.
We hung out with Xinlei until it was time for her to leave for the airport. April and I stayed out in Torrance since we were going to meet up with Ho and Sar to celebrate April's upcoming wedding that was happening the following weekend (!). We wandered around Old Torrance, hitting a thrift store with an overly talkative employee and a scrapbook store where we found her a small guestbook.
We went to the gastropub we were going to for dinner a bit early and tucked into some beers before Sar and Ho got there.
The food was just okay (except for the chorizo fries which were actually pretty awesome) but the company was fantastic. We headed out to a Coffee Bean afterward where April somehow managed to get two free drinks. What the what?
