Home sweet home

"What do you want for dinner tomorrow?"

My mom called me yesterday afternoon asking if I was going to come home on Sunday and since I was, what I wanted for dinner.

"Do you want to go out?"

"Noooooo." I whimpered into the phone.

These past couple of weeks have been completely devoid of any home cooked meals and I was dying for one. I like going out to eat and I like traveling, but this was getting to be a bit much. I had never been so happy to be back in Southern California as I was when I deplaned at John Wayne on Friday night.

I love California. I love Southern California. I think that the fact that I love it more and more with every place I visit (yes, even after being in Hawaii...but only because the idea of being stuck on a little island for a very extended period of time makes me a bit nuts :P) has to say something.

Well, we'll see. VV and I are hitting up NYC next month so perhaps I'll have a change of heart ;)

The Korean had a freaking bathtub sitting a few feet away from the foot of his bed. VV and I call it his love tub. Or maybe it's just me that calls it his love tub. Whatev.

Bad sleep

I was on the East coast for a good portion of last week and will be leaving again for the same place tomorrow (technically today). Cannot sleep since I quite stupidly dozed off this evening (which meant I didn't have time to get Korean food like I'd planned :(). So, spent the evening packing and running around the house in fake lashes (practice practice) and a supersoft Splendid wrap hoodie that I'm going to wear on the plane tomorrow.

And now, pictures.

yes, we went to coffee coffee right after going to cheeburger cheeburger

Mmm cheeburgers. I think their food is better than The Counter's. Esp. their dipping sauces. Yummy.

my new friend. he holds my hand when i cross the street.

Hello I'm at the airport yet again. By the end of today I will have been to five different airports in as many days. As much as I like traveling, this week has been quite trying/tiring. It seems everything has decided to happen right when I have no time to deal with any of it. When it rains it pours?

Anyway, I'm so loving this Blackberry as a time-killer. I'm pretty sure this is less creepy than me snapping pictures of everything.

eep busy

Neck and shoulders hurt. Probably due to accident. Have painful bruise on my knee that might also be due to the accident but I can't be sure.

There are just waaay too many things to get done before leaving Sunday morning and just waaay too little time.

shitty day

Okay so I had a bad day. I rear-ended a car. FARKING A. Anyway, lucky me, I happened to rear-end a very, very nice person. It was totally my fault, but as soon as the dude saw that my hands were shaking as I handed him my insurance info he got omega concerned, asked if I was okay and suggested I sit down as we did the whole info exchange.

Oh, and plus he called me shortly after I got back to VV's and said that he wasn't going to call the insurance company after all since the damage was pretty minimal :P

And yeah I know I'm probably going to get a lot of shit about my horrid driving in the comment box but whatever. Fuck it.

And um I'm somewhat buzzed due to my wine with dinner. That I cooked myself. I made soup and it turned out good (omg amazing).

I have new lenses coming in which is super omega exciting. My uncle sent me a page with cool photos and I'm re-inspired to start shooting again.

Wine is in my head. Must. Go. Now.

Updates

So, first of all I have no email access at work. So I'm very behind on email. Very, very behind.

Second, I'm going to be on madd travel (to see miss Apes and to do work stuff) from the 14th-26th.

And last, I will be in New York from Oct 18-25th!

hello newblog!

So...wooOOOOOO I finally did a whole new layout for the first time in like two years!!!! I am awesome!!!!

In other news, the next two months are going to be off the wall insane as far as my schedule and work go. More on that later.

Anyway...

Went to Yogurtland for the first time yesterday. I prefer it to Pinkberry. I like the charger-per-ounce system they've got going on, and I like that I can get five flavors at once if I want to (and...which I did =X)

Oh, and I was listening to 99.1 yesterday afternoon and they played a song that had the word "fuck" in it about 20 times. No more censorship?!

drained tonight

The beer has finally drained out of my body. At least the alcohol part has. Can't say whether the half doughnut and hot wings and fries and sandwich and pizza (oh my lord I really pigged out didn't I) have been burned off as well. Probably not.

Skin is dry and itchy.

Major changes at work.

Seriously nightmare-ish

So I had a dream about my camera. And VV. And the beach.

I was sitting in the passenger seat of a small SUV that VV was driving, switching lenses (or something?) on my camera. For some reason he drove into the ocean and a wave crashed into (and when I say into I mean inside) the car and soaked us and everything else in the car as well as leaving behind a ton of sand. The end of the dream saw me trying to fish clumps of sand out of the body of my camera. I even remember cringing as I dragged a sandy finger over the sand-covered mirror and desperately wondering if the sensor was destroyed.

Oh man, I was so sad when I woke up this morning. Just residual sadness from the dream, of course.

I Wanna Know

I wanna know what turns you on
So I can be all that and more
I'd like to know what makes you cry
So I can be the one who always makes you smile

"That's such bullshit." my friend K made a face upon hearing the chorus to Joe's "I Wanna Know" "He's going to make her cry sometime."

It was my junior year of high school (I think). K was a senior. I and everyone else knew her as being pretty upbeat and quirky. This bitter revelation was quite unlike her.

Isn't it weird how much a significant other can change your mentality? Even if it's just a high school boyfriend? At the time I was slightly horrified at what her then-boyfriend had done to my normally happy-go-lucky friend. As I got a little older (and wiser, I hope) I realized that maybe it wasn't such a bad thing. What some would call a loss of innocence (usually perceived as a bad thing) should really be called a loss of naivete (more positive connotation).

I don't really remember where I was going with this post. It was much more cohesive in my head. But that was before I got distracted by chips and guacamole (darn you lovely avocados) but I'm pretty sure the post was supposed to wrap up with something like "VV is awesome" <3

When the hell did I become so freaking optimistic?
