yesterday morning i went to the doctor's for a physical. of course, they took height/weight measurements. when i got weighed, the number came up a bit higher than normal, but i was fully clothed (including shoes) so that was to be expected. when they came to measure my height however... so i took off my shoes and stepped on the platform which happened to be very unsteady. my knees buckled a bit as i tried to keep my balance at which point the nurse took the reading as freaking 4'8"!!! i've been somewhere between 4'10" and 4'11" for years, have i been in denial/mismeasuring? did i freaking shrink (disastrous)??? like any person unhappy with their height, i panicked...and upon returning home after work, measured myself against a wall. yep, still 4'10.5" (rounding down to the neareset 1/2"). dammit.
