cameras
I'm thinking about getting a nice camera...trying to decide between a DSLR and a bridge camera. I'm guessing that a DSLR would probably be a better long term investment (even when the camera becomes obsolete, I'll still have the lenses!) and will have more versatility. However, I'm kind of a photography novice and don't really know whether I'll be able to make the best of a DSLR (I know nothing about lenses and many of the manual settings on a camera). I'm also unsure of how often I'll be willing to lug around a case full of lenses/filters/etc. And I kind of like LCDs =\.
If I do get a DSLR, I'm thinking either Canon or Nikon...leaning towards Nikon (for some reason I find CF cards very unattractive) and if I get a bridge maybe a refurb Canon Powershot S-series camera (S3 IS?)? That way I wouldn't feel too bad about the money spent (found one for under $300) if I do eventually switch to DSLR.
I have time to think about it...I probably won't buy until next year after all the xmas crap is over and done with and I can start spending on myself again ;P
