Visitor Q is by far the most bizzare movie I've ever seen.
Picture a boy lying face down in a HUGE puddle of breast milk in the kitchen, cut to a scene with husband and wife happily hacking away at a corpse while talking about how beautiful her organs are, then to their daughter the hooker who propositions their "visitor" in the street, giving him a discount for being "good looking".
Aaaand yeah that pretty muchs sums it up.
It was directed by Miike. That's right, the same guy who did Ichi the Killer. Which I still have not seen.
Anyway, Visitor Q is interesting...but mos' def not for everyone. In fact, it's probably unwatchable for most people.
To it's credit...it did have a happy ending, albeit the strangest one I've ever seen.
Plus, it's actually really funny. You just...I don't know. It was funny.
On a more normal note, Apes and I went to Del Amo and spent waaay too much money. We're just bad like that.

Okay so I just got off the phone with Kit and he told me that the professor was very lenient with the grading curve. He gave a full five percent of extra credit to everyone who did the mid-quarter evaluation and five percent of the grade was for attendance. I just checked my final score against the average and it's six or seven points above it...always a good sign.
The final grade is out. I haven't checked it yet. I'm crossing my fingers.
I seem to always have one class like this...;P

I once had this teacher who worshipped his wife and kids. He credited his wife for giving him the motivation to get his masters and always seemed to be amazed that such a wonderful woman would marry him. He also always talked about his kids and how adorable and amazing they were. He had photos of them plastered all over his classroom. A lot of people didn't like this teacher, including most of the teachers in his department and a good number of students. He was a little too loud and brash I guess. Most people didn't seem to appreciate his sense of humor. In fact, he would tell me at least once a week that I more or less looked like shit (this was junior year so yes, I did look like shit) but the fact that he had such high regards for his own family was enough to make me believe that he was a good person.
It's time for grade anxiety! I'm still not sure if I want to check them on Friday =\ I'm really scared. Mostly about my GPA. It's going to take a real hit this quarter.
I'm pretty sure I failed 152 ;P I don't need to look at my grade to know that.
I forgot to bring my camera home. I'm going to wait until I get it back before I post about last Thursday.
Happy spring break :)

My finals are OVER AND DONE WITH and I am SO FRICKIN' HAPPY!!!
But now that I'm free?
I don't know what to do =\

MR. BLUE SKY by ELO
I like that cowbell-y thing. I think it's a cowbell. It may just be one of the bell things. I don't know. But yeah I like it.
Aaaand that's all.
Time to wrap up the take home final.

I'm really supertempted to go to L&L's BBQ for a plate lunch after work instead of studying. The stress is making me eat :(
Speaking of plate lunches, did you know that Zippy's chili is avaliable here on the mainland? I saw it in the frozen food aisle at Mitsuwa yesterday. Too bad it's so expensive.
I think it's great when people call each other hoes. Like Steph said, why on earth would you call someone a garden tool?
|
|
I should have dropped the stupid class right after the midterm. At least I would still have my book :(
|
|
There's a new Teen Girl Squad!!!
So good!
Too bad it's not as funny as the other ones :(
|
|
It took me an hour to figure out this damn thing.
Got it from his site. I was trying to figure it out last night (at about 1:30ish?) for about forty minutes and it was making me crazy. I came to work and tried it again and it took me about five minutes ;P I'm such a doof.

Happy St. Patty's?
If you pinch me I'll pinch you back.
Yesterday I saw Min Soo in lab (that foo's always in lab) and he told me that I looked like I had no soul. Not sure what he meant by that exactly, but I suspect that he meant I looked drained.
I think that one of the worst positions to be in is to be one of those people who get pinned between a car and a wall (or any two objects for that matter). You know, the only reason that the person is still alive is because the car is holding all of his insides in place. Once the car moves away from him, he's dead.
Isn't it quite the conundrum when the one thing that made you fall apart is the only thing that's holding you together?

Since I haven't posted a weird link in a while....
Hey Grandma???
I think it's quite funny that my mom sent me that link considering the fact that she has probably never heard of the original Outkast song. I doubt that she realizes it's a parody...?
Or perhaps I'm underestimating.
In any case, must do homework.
Oh yeah, I'm going to fail 152.
My mantra, remember?

Just right now I was wondering...why do I keep a tracker on my page?
Actually, make that trackers. I have two on my blog and one on the splash. I've kept track of the hits coming to my page since I started webpaging in 98'. I started with the generic black and white tracker that was provided for my geocities account and then, after discovering that there were much better counters out there, moved on to the Counter. The Counter was great, up until the point where they took all of the neat features away from the free accounts. After that I moved onto eXtremeTracking (which I still have) and later added a SiteMeter.
Back in the geocities days getting more than ten hits that day was considered a lot. Later on, getting more than twenty hits would be a lot. Now, I don't know what to think. I guess it doesn't really make much of a difference anymore. I just like to look at the referrers. Most of my hits are from Google-ers searching for Chiaki Kuriyama, "hellary" duff, and Anthro female fox pictures (yeah that's not google but I thought it was funny).
Am skipping the teachers meeting to do our final project for Japanese. Linda-san is going to come pick me up and we're going to go to Legg (dirty sorry pathetic excuse for a) Lake to film our video. The fact that she lives so close to me is just too cool for school.
Speaking of too cool for school, I miss Ra. He's too cool for school!

Mahahah. I want the AF "Runs Like A Girl" shirt.
I wanted that AE "Algebra is for Lovers" shirt that was out a few months ago but when I went to go look for it there weren't any :(
Oh well. It's not like I have any money anyway.
*this shirt too...!!!!

April 16th!!!!
!!!
I have the bf's copy of Maxim with me. One of my kids over the summer was like "You read Maxim?!" Where else am I going to get to see a two-page spread of bajillion-year-old human corpses?
Actually, that was a little gross.
But yeah.
I'm going to fail 152.
And I'm going to keep saying that over and over again so I'll get used to to it and it'll be easier to stomach when grades come out.
Peace. Out.

Oh yeah, and blogback changed their commentbox thinger sometime during the fifteen minutes of break I took to go turn in my homework. Very spontaneous of them.
|
|
I just hit myself on the head with the door. Ow ow ow.
Our toilet paper is going to last us for over a quarter. Yay costco.
|
|
Hahaha here I am in lab again (I was there until closing last night) and there is literally no one in here but me and the lab attendant.
|
|
Your program will never do what you want it to do. It will only do what you tell it to do.
|
|
I think it's the combination of swimming and lab that makes me sick. I went swimming again this afternoon w/o goggles. I was feeling fine up until I got here ;P Same thing happened last week. If it happens again tomorrow...man.
Bf told me that they say that the dirtier the car, the prettier the girl. Now, I'm either drop-dead gorgeous or that saying is complete bullpoop. I'll let you be the judge.
I love this weather. Hot days (80s/low 90s) and mild nights (60s). It makes me feel happy. I love California.
Going to the ARC later tonight (I think). Going to try the elliptical trainer.
I have to sneeze. Byebye.

I just watched the trailer (yes it's a google cache) for Ichi the Killer and man I think I'm kind of scared (haha). The film was directed by Miike, who also did that other crazy movie (Audition) with the psycho. Now, Audition had people leaving the theater during the last 20-30 minutes of the movie due to the crazy torture scene at the end. Yeap, it was painful, but I was able to deal with it just fine (perhaps because I'm female..?). Judging by the trailer, Audition looks about as freaky as Finding Nemo in comparison to Ichi. Audition only had a few severed body parts and a few mutilated people. The Ichi trailer alone probably had more gore than Audition. I don't like to think of myself as that much of a chicken when it comes to bloody movies, but I don't think I really want to watch this one alone. I might end up doing so, since I don't know of anyone (including the bf) who wants to watch it with me ;P
Will you watch it with me?
I do kind of want to see Stacy. One warning about that link before you click...if you don't like blood, don't click it. That's all.
D showed me a trailer for another Japanese film, Juon (sp?) a while ago (he was also the one who told me about Jisatsu Circle which the bf so kindly downloaded for me last week) aaaand yeah I don't know if I really want to see that ;P The trailer was creepy. The director is the same guy who did Ringu. I hear that there is supposed to be an American remake of Juon in the works right now (title: Grudge) but I'm not 100% sure whether that is true or not.
What's with the Japanese cinema entry? John signed my guestbook asking about Casshern, which I've never heard of. Now, he did give me a site, but I can't read/understand Japanese! Anyone else know anything about the movie?
Chiaki Kuriyama is doing an endorsement for Equinox fitness. I saw Kuriyama all dolled up in leather and fishnets in an ad in this month's Vogue. Is it just me or does it look like she's holding a sword in that photo?
Styna's boyfriend Chul came over last night to make Korean BBQed shortribs for us. He offered us the recipe for the marinade, but I don't cook =P Maybe I should have gotten it. I could cook the meat on a skillet or something. Anyway, Styna prepared chicken Caeser and Apes made potato salad. I am a culinary dunce and would have probably hurt myself and possibly a few others had I dared to try and make something.
I've cut my foot with a spoon before. I have a genius for that sort of thing.
I abhor English voiceovers for foreign films. Why is it that they seem to choose the most awful actors to do them? I'd much rather read the subtitles. Besides, I think that listening to all of that Japanese is good for me.
Goo goo goo and ta ta. I'm sick of typing.

Things have been pretty hectic lately. Because I am such a talented procrastinator, all of my schoolwork and studying is snowballing beautifully. GPA is plummeting before my very eyes. Life is great.
Remember when people used to update regularly? Back in the day when you could actually find people that would update every day? Or even every other day? Actually, there are still people like that. It just seems to me that there are fewer now then there were say, two years ago. I guess I'm the only geekburger that hasn't found a life after all this time. Two years, eight months, still going strong.
Did an ab workout with Styna and April last night. I'm so terribly out of shape. I was really hurting after a while. I used to do fifty crunches a day when I was thirteen. Now I know that sounds like weaksauce, but I was thirteen and about as much of a pansy as I am now. In any case, I don't know where I got the motivation to do that every single freakin' night. I'm such a lazyass.
I think I'm going to go play some Yahoo! Games right now because I'm dorky like that.
Goo goo goo and ta ta (can you tell me where that's from? I'll give you a quarter if you can.)
|
|
yes you love me you tasty websurfer

Actually...I kind of feel better right now.
I just looked at the requirements for my B.S. and I realized that if I pass all of my classes this quarter (and that's a REALLY big if) and next quarter then I'll only have nine more classes left. Weeeeeeeee! If I take summer school then that'll make it only seven more classes for my fourth year. That leaves room to fail about two classes...and I'm looking at failing one class this quarter ;P So yeah...I think I'll come out okay...in four years...
I could probably graduate a quarter early but I don't know if I want to overload myself. If only I had taken more summer school *sigh*
|
|
I'm so superbad at all of this hardware crap I could cry :(
I have to register tomorrow. I haven't made up my schedule yet.
I also have to work on my Japanese script, but that should take maybe an hour...?
I don't know. I'm sick of school.
Annoying Girl is extremely annoying.
The end.
|
|
Frustrated...I think this is just going to be a really bad week ;P
I can't find my book. Unfortunately, it's the text for the class that I'm doing the worst in ;P. I think I left it under my seat or something in my first class, but knowing me I probably did something stupid like leave it on the living room couch which would cause me to panic for the rest of the day because I think I lost it.
Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to be the case today.
Or maybe.
I don't know. All I know is that I need it to do my homework and if I don't get my hands on a copy soon I'm going to be screwed.
