Last night was nothing but good times :) Photos to come later.
This summer I learned that frog tastes like chicken.
I have this huge craving for okonomiyaki. I searched for okonomiyaki restaurants, but came up with a bunch of sites telling me where to find okonomiyaki in Japan. I think I'm going to try and make some sometime this week. Maybe.

Santa Monica
Two weeks late BUT IT'S OKAY!
The American Eagle Outfitters at Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade has this very cool camera that will take a picture and then emails it to a maximum of five email addresses. We took about five hundred pictures but for some reason, between the four of us, I think we only received about two. I don't know what their deal was ;P Anyhow, these photos are from two weeks ago.
Kit's relatives came coming to visit from up north, so yesterday Kit took me, his little sister, and the older of the two cousins that had come to Santa Monica since his cousin had never been there. Funny how I didn't have to twist his arm to get into the Apple Store. He said (and this is a direct quote) "This place is awesome." Thank you, thank you :D
After leaving Santa Monica we took ten years off our lives with some greasy Tommy burgers and chili cheese fries then we headed back.
And today we're headed out to Santa Monica again. It was a little colder yesterday than it was two weeks ago. Maybe I should dress a little warmer.

Question that has been pestering me for years: what is the connection between homosexuality and carpet-cleaning? Once at a Jr. YBA retreat Scott was telling me that he felt gay because he felt bored (I don't get the connection there either but whatever) and I was asking him why and then this guy (I think his name was Chris?) randomly asked me if I'd ever been to the carpet cleaners and I said "What?" and he said "Nevermind" and I didn't question him any further but (much) later I thought "What the hell...?" and I've been confused ever since.

Been in a very shoppy mood lately. Two paychecks + security deposit= $$$.
Kinda goes to your head, you know?

Today has been fricken' awful. I somehow managed to oversleep (my crackhead alarm didn't go off....I checked it this morning and it was turned on and set to the right time) so I missed my quiz and about thirty minutes of lecture. I would have come in earlier but I got to the lot just in time to see someone take the last space...except I didn't know it was the last space so I drove around the lot looking for another then wound up going to the next lot and had to parallel park. Blargh. Plus I have cramps up the ying yang and frick...we have training today.
Bah.

Oh yeah...when we went to go pick up my mom at the airport we saw Russel Wong. Or at least I think it was Russel Wong...? Anyway, he was pretty damn tall and was wearing a blue jacket that looked too small. He was there to pick up his very designer girlfriend.
We also saw someone being taken away in handcuffs. That was pretty cool.
I have homework I don't know how to do. Be back later.

A couple of guestbook sigs that I need to recognize...
This site made me laugh, but my sense of humor is a little strange. So yeah...
The other site is Eric's site. Eric is a very talented artist dude that I went to high school with. Over the past couple of years I've lost track of his website, but he recently signed my guestbook with his new URL. It looks good. I like his roomtour thing. Or maybe I just like his room. Either way, it's worth a look.
It's late and I need to shower. Byebye.

Guy In My Class: What ICS classes have you taken?
Me: [insert classes here] Are you an ICS major too?
GIMC: Yeah
Me: What year are you?
GIMC: Same as you.
I didn't think it was odd that he knew I was an ICS major, since I had my old math 6C book in front of me, but he knew what year I am. Turns out he recognized me from ICS51 and from the MRC.
I had no idea who he was.
Am I so self-centered that I can't be bothered with the people around me?
So anyway, I pretended I didn't feel weird and made conversation. Turns out he went to Los Altos high school and knows a number of people I know from Nishi. Nice.

I just watched several episods of Sex and the City with Xinlei, the mirror in the dining room is tilted at a very flattering angle, I'm eating tasty milano cookies that Kit bought me yesterday for two dollars, and my hair looks freakin' fantastic even though it's tangled and a little greasy. I feel fabulous.
And now it's time to take a shower and go to bed so I can wake up early tomorrow. I can guarantee you I won't be feeling fabulous in about five hours ;P

Sara has had a mighty foul mouth lately! I was on the phone with her the other day and I swear she said "fuck" or some form of the word at least five times. This from the girl who wouldn't even say "ass".

It's literally mind-numbingly boring here. I'm serious. I feel like I've had some sort of local anesthesia applied to my brain.
I just went to the bathroom. Not because I really needed to go, but because I needed a change of scenery.
I think I might go wade in the pool when I get back to the apartment. If it's not too cold, that is.

First Friendster, then Enemyster, and now STD-ster!! [Link from Dave]
I've sure been blogging a lot. Shouldn't I be doing homework...or working or something?
|
|
I just finished my 12 piece pack of gum. It took me over two weeks to finish it. That is quite an accomplishment for me...I can easily finish off a 12 pack in one day.
Many thanks to Kit for supporting my gum and milano habits (he bought me cookies yesterday) <3

Hellary Duff
That Lizzie McGuire girl is possibly one of the most annoying things on this planet to date. I once had to sit in a car with nothing but Duff music...back to back to back. That has got to be one of the six hells...or however many there are. Kit's little sister is into her (she's eight), which is why we had to listen to that "music". I mean, don't get me wrong, she has a decent voice. It's just...her music is so bubblegum. Blah. Well that's just my two cents.
Anyhow, I'm blogging in public once again. I'm working until seven, which means I have plenty of time to do my homework...later. HA.
I'll probably be back later today. I have some major catching up to do.

Be back in a snap.
Midterm tomorrow =0

Friday Five...on a Friday!
1. How much time do you spend online each day?
It depends. If I work, I spend hours online. If not? Well, as of late not that much, but now the number is creeping up to maybe a couple of hours.
2. What is your browser homepage set to?
This, although I'm not quite sure why.
3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?
AIM, like most others. I had a short bout with Trillian, which was very cool, but unfortunately I only have it on my laptop. Yes, the piece of crap that I rarely use.
4. Where was your first webpage located?
Here. Yech.
5. How long have you had your current website?
This incarnation? Since the end of July. This location? Umm...for about a year and a half. The site midori in all of it's forms? Almost five years now.
That was fun. Time to pack.

Seems we have as much trouble as they do. (from LYD.com)
Case in point:
"Amerikajin wa baka desu"
*seen by a friend on the shirt of a white guy at obon a few years ago.

Friday Five
1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
Sadly enough, it was Hawaii. That was a few years ago.
2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
While traveling? Or on vacation? When I was in Tahoe, I got stepped on by a horse. Haven't been on a horse since.
3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
Ever since looking at the photos from Lina's six-week trip to Japan (welcome back!), I've had a burning desire to go there myself. My mom is leaving for Japan tomorrow. Lucky mommy.
4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
I guess that would all depend on the destination. I'm not going to fly to San Diego, and I'm not going to drive to Hawaii. I don't really like trains, so I guess it would be either planes or cars.
5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
Japan of course :)

What the heezie...
Would you really want a chair like this in your yard? *shudder*

This afternoon I attempted to make a layer cake. What I made was a mess. Martha Stewart I am not. In light of somewhat recent events involving the domestic goddess, that may be a good thing.
Happy birthday sweetie!

Why do we let people tell us who and what we are? And why do we take it to heart?
|
|
Why do I always feel so ridiculously nerdy when I blog in public places? In this instance, I'm at work. School has started and I have a short but ugly homework assignment for math already. Boo complex numbers.
I stayed up until nearly four last night (er...this morning) and I woke up at 7:21. Blah. I had to get my parking permit and then get to class by nine.
I haven't eaten all day. I had coffee and it wreaked havoc on my empty stomach.
We had the PSAT vocab rally last Thursday. I had something to say about it, but I seemed to have forgotten what it was. Typical.
Now I'll go back to my homework. Or waste time. Either or.
|
|
I feel like I've been ground down to bones. I feel like I've been through a war. I feel like I've had everything sapped out of me and I have no more energy to do anything worthwhile.
And in a couple of days I get to start school ;P
On the upside, on that day my coffee strike will end :) Kit has coupons for buy one get one free frapps at all Barnes and Noble Starbucks. Mmmm...
