Oh, and here's last year's roundup with a photo of the necklace I forgot in a fitting room at the outlets yesterday. VV drove all the way back to get it for me because I had to cook all day and didn't have time. He's my hero ♥

My goodies
I have a peppermint chocolate crotch right now. Story involves a hot beverage from Starbucks and a sudden stop. My cookies are def mint Milanos right now.
---
The other day I was at Total Wine and was looking for whiskey. As I entered the aisle I heard the man say "This is mezcal. Mezcal is made from an agave plant." I turned my head briefly to see that the man was talking to his two small children, a boy who looked to be maybe 4 or 5 and a little girl who was maybe a year or two younger than her brother (I assume). "It's spelled M-E-Z-C-A-L" he continued as I made my way past the mezcal section.
Unable to find the brand I was looking for, I turned around and started walking back the way I came. Just as I was leaving the aisle, I saw the man crouched down with his children on either side of him, pointing to a bottle on the bottom shelf saying "Now this stuff tastes bad."
---
I've finished my xmas shopping (I think...I hope) but haven't done any wrapping yet. I hate the holidays.

Berkeley and eastward
Photos from October.
Leaving Napa for Berkeley, checking into the Hotel Shattuck, grabbing diner food for lunch, picking up Zachary's deep dish and taking it over to Xin and Matt's for dinner, meeting their humpy new puppy, and eating watermelon cut by the best watermelon cutter ever (which is Xin, according to Matt).

Sparkle hump day
VV is back on the east coast for a couple days, it's freezing, and I have glitter all over my desk, keyboard and hands due to a particularly festive holiday card that's being sent out to a customer.
Photo above is from this morning. Light was beautiful. Outdoor temperature was less than optimal.

Blackout
Went to Old Town Pasadena today to get some xmas shopping done (got there about 15 minutes before most stores were even open so parking/crowds were not a problem) and as I was driving I realized that the SGV got to' up man. Trees and tree parts were everywhere and there was one small block with three tree stumps that were torn up by the roots (I assume the trees fell and they got cut up to make them more manageable). Crazysauce. All we got in Irvine was a bunch of tumbleweed.
Got presents for peeps and pants, round cake pans and a somewhat overpriced mint lemonade from le Pain Quotidien for myself.
there's usually a street sign there

Tastes like candy
VV and I went to get dinner and then went to BevMo to browse. What we ended up getting was Leffe Brune which we haven't seen since we were in Belgium over 2 years ago and a bottle of Four Roses whiskey which I tried last weekend at Father's Office and liked.
Having a glass of it over ice right now. Also having Gummy Vites. Not over ice, though.
