another friday five on a non-friday :)
Whats harder to live without, chocolate or alchohol?
Mm...alcohol would be (does not bode well if I ever decide to pop out a baby (yick)). I usually prefer salty to sweet as far as foods go, but I do love a glass of wine or beer with a meal.
Does the colour yellow remind you of anything?
School buses maybe. And taxis. I guess.
Who most annoyed you last week?
The leasing office dude I had to deal with when trying to obtain my misdelivered UPS packages. He rolled his eyes at me and threw attitude when I continued to believe my second package was there and he did not because he didn't see it. I called the apartment manager later that day and she found it after about a minute of searching.
Do you have a cutesy romantic nickname for your partner (or previous partners)?
As if I'd tell you guys that!
What is your favourite Stephen King movie?
I think I've only seen two...1408 and the Shining...unless you count Carrie 2 (which I do not). 1408 made me terribly claustrophobic. I preferred the Shining.

mmm sidenote...
I hit my head on the door frame of the Korean's Civic as I was exiting the backseat yesterday afternoon. Now, I do this sort of thing all the time (clumsy!) so no big deal? However when I was washing my hair this morning I noticed a bit tenderness in the exact area I bashed my skull yesterday.
My head is oddly shaped. I think I have my mother to thank for that.

why oh why is it so cold today...
If only my stomach was as 2D as my butt. And my butt was as 3D as my stomach. Ugh.
Yesterday I had some tasty shortribs and banchan (and Korean nori DELICIOUS!) @ the casa de Peter and Daniel. And I got to see Hiro for the first time since fourth year of college!
Btw, if you know where I can find the sake pictured over there ---> please let me know! It's pretty omega tasty! Curse me for taking a blurry photo :(

brown rice tea is delicious
I've decided to use my KeePOM to store my loose change instead of letting it fall out of my wallet and roll around in my purse amidst all of my purse-junk (receipts, business cards and the like). I rinsed him out this morning (KeePOM is a boy because he is comprised of two balls, or rather has two ball-like components) and now I'm letting him dry out. I told VV that if Keepons become available to the general public by the time I fill him up w/ change that I'll put the money towards buying a real one!

Annoying things
SUVs in parking spaces marked compact
Which may be understandable if parking is at a serious premium but even happens in virtually deserted lots because some SUV-driving asshole did not want to walk the extra 10 yards to their destination.
Selfish people at the supermarket...
...the ones who needlessly take up the whole conveyor belt because their stuff is spread out all over the place. Sometimes I gots heavy stuff that I'd really love to put down but I can't because you leave 2 inches of space between all your items. *sigh*. On the flip side, though, there are indeed lots of nice people who do have their stuff kinda spread out but make an effort to make enough room for me to at least unload a few of my items. Oh, and I like the people who put down a divider for me when it's too far away for me to reach w/ my short arms :)
There is also the occasional nice person who will let me go first when they (with their fully loaded shopping carts) see that I only have a bottle of water and a pack of gum.
Selfish curb-parkers!
I reaaally really hate it when people do things like needlessly leave 3/4 of a compact car-length space between their car and another car/the red curb/the end of the curb. Gah!
I have mild food coma. Yawn.

Mmm food cravings..
I'm getting these awful, terrible cravings for either sundubu or ramen or pho or something! Something soupy and asian-y and hot (temperature-wise).
Perhaps it's time for some Shin sen gumi.

Bizz-ooooring
"I have nothing to talk about to anyone anymore!!" I told the VV last night before we went to sleep.
My life has been good as of late. The job is fine. The boyfriend is wonderful. No pain no drama in any area of my life. For the first time in my life. It's great and I wouldn't change a thing, but what am I supposed to say when someone I haven't seen in a couple of months asks "So, what's up with you?"
"Everything's been good."
"How's work?"
"Work's good. The same."
"How's VV? Everything going well?"
"He's good. Everything is going fine." (Believe me, no one wants to hear anyone gush about how wonderful their s/o is).
I've settled into a comfortable little rut and I'm kind of happy here. Not to say I'm a homebody (although I am more so than I was a couple years ago or so), it's just I haven't had anything exciting happen in my life recently :P
Okay wow this post took me over a day to write.

Friday Five! Even though it's not Friday...
Name five...
1. ... things you can't live without. (I am not going to count people as things so none of the usual "friends, family, my boyfriend" crap)
Digital Camera
I get seriously jittery if I don't have one on hand. I regularly carry two (Nikon D40 and Canon SD800IS) with me in my purse.
Cell phone
I have a love/hate relationship with my cellphone and I frequently forget it at home/at the office/at VV's, but I feel super insecure without it.
Smith's Rosebud Salve
Nothing makes my lips feel better than this balm and I go nuts if I don't have any on hand. I have about five tins of this right now in various places (apartment, purse, VV's, office) just in case I forget/lose my tin.
Laptop
Where else would I store all of my digital photos? Built-in SD card reader == awesome. Plus, it's gotten to the point where I can't function properly without a computer. But isn't that the case for most of us?
Tampons
Pads feel like diapers. Yechhhhh.
2. ... of the best moments in your life.
GOOD TEST RESULTS
Seriously! When I found out that I passed all of my senior year APs (I really thought I was only going to pass English) I was on cloud nine. When I found out a) my junior year PSAT score and b) my first SAT score I was on cloud nine. When I found out that I actually ended up with recognition on one of my Golden States (for some dumb reason they issued that particular test at the beginning of the school year wtf) I was on cloud nine. Seriously.
Moving out of the house...
...and into my apartment. My apartment. It felt good knowing that I could support myself. Living by myself was pretty exhilarating since it was something I'd wanted for so long.
Graduating
From both college and high school. I was counting down the days to both and both times it felt really good.
Living in 1208 Alicante
I could not have asked for better roommates. My living situation those last two years of college were both fun and drama-free (well, none of my drama stemmed from myi living situation that's for sure...) The only thing that tempered my desire for college to be over and done with was that I was supremely happy with where I was living.
Being with the VV
Ugh, cheesy cheesy cheesy I know, but truer than I'd like to admit. He makes me happy and that is all.
3. ... celebrities you can't stand.
Paris Hilton
What a cliche!
Orlando Bloom
He looks like a rodent.
The Jonas Brothers
I have no freaking clue who they are but adolescent girls everywhere are going nuts over them. That makes me feel old.
Mariah Carey
I love her old stuff, but now even looking at her makes me cringe :\
...
It was hard enough coming up with the first four...
4. ... books you enjoy(ed) reading.
Brave New World (Aldous Huxley)
Kitchen (Banana Yoshimoto)
Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers (Lois-Ann Yamanaka)
The Color Purple (Alice Walker)
The Phantom Tollbooth (Norton Juster)
5. ... items in your purse/backpack/on your desk. Will try to avoid overlapping w/ question #1)
Fluxx
There in case of emergency I guess? I like the idea of a game that fits in my purse.
iPod Shuffle
A gym staple, although I haven't been to the gym in a while.
iPod Touch
Frequently used in places w/ free wireless. Very handy-dandy.
Satu Eye Kit
Eyeshadow...quint? There are five shades in it. Got it @ Anthropologie for cheap. I meant to take it out of my purse and leave it at VV's but I forgot.
Cruzer Micro 2GB USB stick
It's 2GB! And it's retractable!

i could use a glass of wine right now. blah.

music music music!
The VV got me a 90's dance compilation (he was going to make me one until he found a CD that had almost the exact same mix he was going to use so he just bought it for me haha) and it has Crystal Waters' 100% Pure Love on it.
I TOTALLY FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE THAT SONG.
Anyway, I YouTubed the video and whoaaaa nelly Crystal Waters is so freaking awesome?
Here's the video. I swear Monifah's "Touch It" has a very similar feel to this song (I think it's the beat) and the video reminds me of something Aaliyah would have been in. Something about her style and the video's style and agghhh.
Speaking of Crystal Waters and awesome, I discovered that there is a Crystal Waters/Calabria (by Rune) mashup done by Alex Gaudino. I love love love the Calabria instrumental but I never really liked that song by whatshisname that sampled it (the one that's always on the radio..).
So yeah. Here's the Destination Unknown video (why wasn't our marching band that hot?)
